Detailed Review: Once the art of stitching seemed really exciting, and tough at the same time. I wanted to learn and be my own seamstress. After browsing through multiple webpages and sites, my search ended on Disha Fashion Institute, an institution affiliated with USHA International. I undertook Diploma In Sewing & Designing course for 6 months. I attended offline classes and slowly began to experience confidence. Thanks to Monalisha ma'am, Sarmistha ma'am and Amrita ma'am. The best part is offcourse the teachers, who taught us in a way that a beginner should be taught. During the 1st outbreak of the pandemic, the classes were switched to online, which actually turned out to be an absolute stress buster for me and helped me to completely devote my time in the pursuit of the art. I thank my teachers for bringing out the best in me. Without their support, this would not have been possible. It's true that learning never ends, but I am confident with everything that I have learnt in these 6 months. If you are a beginner, with an enthusiasm to learn the art of stitching, then Disha Fashion Institute can definitely lead the way in your journey.

How much does it cost to learn tailoring?

If you're interested in learning how to tailor clothes, start a boutique business, start a tailoring shop, you might be wondering how much it will cost to complete a basic tailoring course. The cost of learning to tailor can vary depending on where you take classes. The tailoring class fees of Disha Fashion Institute is quite reasonable. If you are looking for diploma certificate, then it will cost 2000/- examination fee at the end of the course before appearing for the exam. If you are looking for a tailoring job, in a manufacturing company, fashion house, Government enterprise, then the diploma certificate will be necessary for which you need to bear the extra cost. But, if you are only looking for the knowledge to set up your own boutique or tailoring business, then you can skip the certification. In Disha Fashion Institute, the basic tailoring course only costs 700/- per month which is negligible with respect to the tailoring accessories you will need. You will need to buy cotton fabric for practice apart from the tailoring tools described above. The tailoring accessories which are absolutely necessary for the class, can be bought from our school as well. The fabric cost is significantly large to stitch 60+ patterns taught in basic tailoring course syllabus. But considering that, you can use your old cotton clothes as well for practice, as well as while practice, you will be making the clothes for yourself and your family members. So the cost for buying clothes will be saved while you are learning tailoring smile. The major portion of the cost for learning tailoring is buying a tailoring machine. There are wide range of tailoring machines available in the market. Starting from traditional machines with iron base to modern electronic machines. The cost varies from few thousands to few lacs. You need to buy the tailoring machine based on your actual need. There is no benefit to buy a costly machine with lot of features which you will not use. If you already have an iron base sewing machine, you can avoid buying another sewing machine. Also if you are taking order as a local tailor, we will advise to fit a motor with your iron base machine and use the same for heavy use, instead of a sophisticated electronic machine. There are lot of aspects to consider before you buy a machine. It will be better to discuss with your teacher in the class for proper guidance. We will be able to help you to make the best choice.
